Adeline Khoo
I’m Adeline Khoo, a mechanical engineer by education, stationed in REI’s Engineering Division. I have been with the company for 3 years and I have been fortunate enough to be given a sabbatical to complete my masters degree. As an REI scholar, I am proud to be a part of a progressive company which champions the development of employees in promoting a synergistic cohesiveness in teams that develop ground breaking technology in the power arena. I have been given the opportunity to explore myself further as a graduate and to work with an international team of experts and subject matter experts, and most importantly, I can concurrently hone my technical skills with a department which values my learning and development. If there was one word which can be used to describe working at REI, it would be ‘inspiring’.
Gerundio Jun M. Macaladad
I am Jun Macalalad from Philippines. Currently, I am the leader of detailing and drafting of the EDD Design Department.. I have been with the company for 13 years now, 5 years in its subsidiary company in the Philippines and 8 years here in Malaysia. REI has develop a reputation among Filipino Site Engineers. They often say that if they knew that the tower came from REI, they seldom inspect it because from their experience, detailing of REI towers are always accurate.
Working with the company made me realize that what they say about REI is true. The company always make it a point that the work we do is accurate and completed on time. It may be difficult sometimes but it is always our goal.
The best part about working with REI is that you will be able to learn almost all about steel structures as the company handles almost all type of steel detailing. Also, the company makes it a point to train its personnel with the latest software so they can do their job better. They invest in personnel training so that they can give the clients the best service possible.
If I were to describe my work here in REI, two words come to my mind: Challenging and Fulfilling. Challenging in the sense that our skills are always being tested under pressure and yet fulfilling because after the work is done, the feeling of satisfaction in being able to complete the task is overwhelming.
Anson Lee Chee Eng
My name is Anson Lee Chee Eng, born on 13 April 1977 in Ipoh, a small town then in Perak. I come from a small family which consists of my dad, mom and a younger sister.
I attended SRJK Poi Lam for primary education and later the famous SMJK Sam Tet for my secondary education. I graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi in Bachelor of Civil and Structural Engineering and obtained my Masters Degree in Information Technology in Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang.
I joined REI in 22 September 2003, and this September will be my tenth year serving in REI. The best moment working here was when our tower design won the tender despite stiff competition. One word to describe working in REI is the word 'Challenging'. Being an engineer in REI, we have to design towers to the optimum weight and least cost in order to compete with other tower specialists not limited to Malaysia but the world. If I were given an opportunity to reconsider working in REI, would REI be my first choice? The answer is definitely "YES".
Emely Ruxton
My name is Emely Ruxton. I’m a Thai descendant ( with some Scottish blood in me), who hails from Kelantan, and yes you got it right, I’m a typical Kampung girl who, like most of the city dwellers dream of making it big in KL. Well the big break came when I was accepted into Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang. I then graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics back in 2007 and join REI a month later.
I didn’t know what to expect as I was a newbie in the corporate world. I still remember my first day at work where I was brought around to be introduced. It was a nerve wrecking experience but yet an exciting one as I couldn’t wait to get acquainted with my new colleagues. I was placed under the accounts department - which I didn’t know anything about. Thank goodness my new found colleagues took me under their wings and guided me throughout my new role here in REI.
It’s now been six years since that day and it’s no secret why I’m still here. My colleagues and bosses are awesome and I couldn’t dream of a better place to build my career. I’ve developed new skills with courses and training provided by the company, that has shaped my character and I can sincerely say that I wouldn’t be who I am today without REI.
One of the greatest moments in REI was when I was awarded a token of appreciation under the long service award scheme. It was one of the most rewarding moments in my journey with REI. REI to me in my own words is a ‘Really Electrifying Institution’.
